What roles could you have?
 
Customer Advisors are the face of Telstra in our retail stores and provide advice to customers on our products and services while being a representative of the iconic Telstra brand. You would become an expert on everything from mobile phones to telephony solutions for businesses and would work with a wide variety of customers.
 
Specialist Customer Advisors work in our new T[life]™ stores and specialise in specific areas of Telstra's offering. Specialist Customer Advisor roles currently support the Business Centres, [my]Place and Visual Merchandising areas of our T[life]™ stores.
 
Assistant Store Managers lead a team of Retail Professionals in the store and support the Store Manager in the day to day operations and leadership of the store.
 
Department Managers work in our T[life]™ stores and lead a team of Retail Professionals within a specific and specialised area of the store. 
 
Store Managers work in conjunction with Telstra’s Retail Management team to set the strategy and bring it to life in-store. They also provide leadership and guidance to the store’s team of Retail Professionals.

What development opportunities are there?


Some of our most successful people at Telstra have started their careers in a retail store. They may have progressed within retail to become Store Managers, moved into retail support roles within our corporate offices, or may have taken their experience and knowledge to pursue careers in many other parts of Telstra. A start in retail can lead to an exciting career in any other part of Telstra.

Your career will start with a structured induction program that ensures you are ready to provide advice to your customers. You’ll also take part in a structured, engaging and comprehensive training and development plan to keep you up to date with the latest from Telstra. Of course, 99% of learning and development happens outside the classroom so you’ll be learning continuously while you’re working with our customers.

We support the growth and development of our retail professionals in a variety of ways including the 'Stepping into Management' development program which supports Customer Advisors in learning how to become a great manager.  

With your enthusiasm for a career at Telstra and good performance on the job, your manager will help you identify the steps you need to take in order to progress your career and will assist you in gaining the experience and training required to get you there.
