Found what you’re looking for?  Apply online

You’ll be asked to enter your contact details and resume.   For each application, there will be a few questions to answer as well, that relate to the position you are applying for.

When your application has been successfully submitted, you’ll receive an acknowledgement email from us.  If you do not receive this acknowledgement, you have not submitted your application and it may be incomplete.  You can log back into your profile to view and complete your draft applications at any time until the closing date.

Our jobs are typically open for two weeks to one month. As soon as our Careers Centre consultants start receiving applications, we start reviewing candidates so it’s a good idea to submit your application as soon as you can.  In some circumstances we may close off job advertisements before the closing date if we’ve received a high volume of applications.

How do I express interest in jobs that are not currently advertised?

If you want to express interest in a job at Telstra but can’t find what you’re looking for in the list of current vacancies, you can register your details against one of our Expression of Interest jobs. The Careers Centre consultants manage applications submitted for the expression of interest jobs and pre-qualify them for future positions that become available.

What to expect from the recruitment process

Our Careers Centre consultants review submitted applications for suitability against the criteria for the position.  If your skills and experience match those of what we’re looking for, you’ll be contacted by phone to confirm information to support your application.

At all times during the recruitment process you’ll be kept up to date on your progress via email or phone.  Our Careers Centre consultants will advise you of the next steps in the process and also inform you if you have been unsuccessful in progressing at any stage.

If you have been successful in being shortlisted, you’ll be invited in for an interview.  This could be an assessment centre, a behavioural telephone interview or a one-on-one face to face interview with the manager.  The Careers Centre consultant will advise you on the type of interview when booking a suitable time with you.

At interview stage you will be asked to bring along proof of identity and eligibility to work in Australia (birth certificate, passport and licence) and copies will be taken. You may also be asked to fill in a background check consent form.

Depending on the role, some candidates will be requested to complete psychometric testing through one of our assessment providers.  The types of psychometric testing that may be used include verbal, numerical and abstract reasoning, cognitive ability, sales preference and personality tests.

Employment reference checks will be conducted with two referees that you have previously worked for.

To protect our business, our people and our customers, everyone who is offered employment with us is asked to participate in a background check. This check is carried out by a third party on our behalf and the type of check will vary depending upon the role you’ve applied for. The check may include: details of your current/previous employment, education, residency, criminal history and relevant professional qualifications.

An offer of employment may be withdrawn if the results of the checks are not to Telstra’s satisfaction.
