Next step: prepping for your interviews
I’ve just applied to the Telstra Graduate Program, what happens next?
Great work! We know it’s hard work putting together your graduate application, so now it’s our turn. Once we’ve received your initial application, successful applicants will be sent an invitation to complete a Montage video interview, followed by some online testing, an assessment centre and two different interviews.
One interview will be done on the phone and the other will be with your hiring manager. It may sound intimidating, but don’t worry, we’ll be with you every step of the way.
What’s a montage interview?
Montage is the application we use to host your video responses. You’ll be given a link to Montage where you’ll see a list of questions. You’ll have 72 hours from when you open the link to respond to each question. You must record a video response to each question and you can edit and record your response as many times as you need to, which means you have the opportunity to upload your best work, so give it your best shot!
What happens in an assessment centre?
Going to an assessment centre is an important part in any graduate application process. Typically, you’ll join a handful of other graduate applicants and have a series of activities to do, both as a group and individually. You’ll be given plenty of opportunities to speak, because we want to hear what you have to say! Once you’ve been invited, you’ll be given more information about what exactly you can expect in your assessment centre.
To do well, it’s a good idea to communicate clearly and give others in the group a chance to speak too. Remember to do your homework and understand as much about our business as you can.
When are interviews and assessments scheduled?
Our graduate recruitment activity moves on a rolling basis meaning applicants will move through the application process at different times. Nearing the end of the program, however, our assessment centres will be scheduled and candidates will be notified once these dates are available to them.
Where will assessment centres be held?
Assessments will be held in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane and Canberra. If you do not live in one of those major cities, you can choose to fly into one of the major cities listed or use Telstra’s world-class technology options and dial virtually into your assessment centre.
Will you be in touch during the application process?
When you apply, you’ll get a confirmation of your application via email. You’ll also receive personal updates from your graduate recruiter who will contact you as you move through each stage of the process.
