Our approach to flexibility
Flexible work has been a way of life at Telstra for over 10 years. We encourage you to work where, when, and how you are the most engaged, safe, and productive. That’s because we know you are at your best when you get the job done and enjoy what you do.
We get it. Everyone has different personal circumstances and preferences. And we believe every role can flex in some way. For some, that might mean choosing to work from home, at a Telstra workspace, or on the go. For others it could mean part-time hours, choosing a shift that works around family commitments, or blocking out time for exercise. Thinking of a career break or cultural leave? Flexibility can be as unique as you.
But don’t take our word for it. When we asked our people in a recent survey, 90% said that flexible working helped them strike the balance between their work and personal lives. Even better, 70% felt their health and wellbeing was now ‘good’ to ‘thriving.’
To us, flexibility is both a practice and mindset. No matter how you choose to work, we prioritise health and wellbeing by encouraging ‘hybrid habits’ – healthy boundaries that maintain space between work and personal life. And if you are working from home, we’ll provide the right tools and equipment from a desk to a mouse, so that you can work safely and productively.
Where you live should not limit the work you do. Many of our office and contact centre roles can be performed from anywhere across Australia. Looking beyond our CBDs to regional hubs allows us to tap into the best talent our country has to offer, no matter where someone lives. That’s good for our people, our customers, and society.
