Tyrone Floro
Employee Experience Consultant - Telstra
I'm proud to be a part of such an iconic Australian company that’s currently undergoing the biggest transformation in Australian corporate history.

I'm very grateful to be a former recipient of the UNSW All-Rounder Scholarship and the Hon. Stuart Ayres Minister for Penrith Parliamentary All-Rounder Award. I am an all-rounder in the sense that I give my energy, hard work and enthusiasm to all my commitments in my academic, work, extracurricular and community involvement.

As a young leader I aim to make a positive impact on society, ensure that diversity and inclusion aren't just buzzwords and that our community exists without conflict. As a Telstra Spectrum Council Member and State Events Coordinator for the charity Out For Australia, I strive to help aspiring LGBTQI+ young professionals and students be their authentic selves in the workplace and assist companies in making this come to fruition more frequently.

  • How (and why) you should explore the Telstra Graduate Program

I wish I had cooked my secret sauce a lot earlier. What is a secret sauce, I hear you ask? Well, it's not quite your personal brand, not quite your personality and probably not even where you've come from or where you're going. It's all of the above and more.

To develop your recipe for a sauce that Telstra recruiters can’t resist, you need to dive deep and ask yourself: who are you?

  • How my legendary colleagues are helping me thrive during lockdown

I rarely work from home as I thrive in an office environment and enjoy seeing my colleagues in person. So, when most of us here at Telstra were asked to work from home because of the COVID-19 pandemic, I initially struggled adjusting to the ‘new normal’.

  • The three best benefits I’ve found working at Telstra

I chose Telstra's Graduate Program because I knew it would help me gain experience in certain areas of Human Resources (HR), which is difficult to do with an entry-level role or in a smaller company.
I also knew I wanted to work for an iconic brand that I would be proud to represent. So, I jumped at the chance to join a telecommunications and technology organisation that is always finding ways to improve and innovate.
