Job Description

Our Telstra NBN & CD team have an awesome opportunity available for a Network Design Specialist to join our Bangalore team.

By joining Telstra, you will have the opportunity to consult with a diverse portfolio of clients. Think along the lines of Australia’s well-known businesses – financial institutions, government agencies, boutique brands and everything in between.

As a Network Design Specialist you will be a subject matter expert in either Appraisal (including Site Assessment) and/or Design. The role in the Design Centre of Excellence (DCOE) is to provide advanced technical support and coaching to Appraisal and/or Design team members. You will also be responsible for continuous improvement in a designated stream of activity across the Design Centre of Excellence such as process, quality, engagement or training.

 

Experience Criteria:

  • A Professional with at least 8+ years’ experience in the telecommunication network design and construction industry.
  • CCNA/CCNP/CCIE or any equivalent telecom certification.
  • Very advanced technical understanding in all major Network databases involved in the Design, Construction and ongoing maintenance of Wideband services.
  • Network solution and design: Uses tools and automation to design secure and resilient networks and solutions, with intrinsic automated validation, in a single domain, using agreed design and test methodologies and frameworks, identifying issues and escalating as appropriate.
  • Development of network solutions including development of network service APIs and data models (IETF, MEF, TMF, ONF, OpenConfig and similar), network service platforms (ONOS, ODL, OpenStack and similar, including vendor specific), and API based network management technologies (NETCONF, YANG, RESTCONF, BGP-LS, PCEP and similar)
  • Demonstrated coaching and continuous improvement capability.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks to critical deadlines.
  • Sound complex problem solving skills; a creative approach with the ability to develop innovative new ideas.
  • Demonstrated high levels of oral and written communication skills.
  • High level of commitment, motivation, energy, optimism with a solutions targeted approach.
  • A high level of interpersonal skills and a strong commitment in working in a team environment with an ability to manage a broad range of situations and stakeholders

Designation: Software - Senior Engineer

Role and Accountabilities:
 
This will suit an experienced ServiceNow professional with a successful recent track record in architecting and delivering ServiceNow solutions.
  
Candidates will be experienced in leading ServiceNow engagements end to end, provide solutions leadership, content and governance to consulting initiatives and projects.   
 
The Solution Architect will define the solution foundation and building blocks, conform to standards and best practices, while being realistic with constraints and alternatives to adhere to goals, budgets and timelines. They will have substantive ServiceNow knowledge across its suit of Product lines.

In addition, the successful candidate(s) will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following duties:

  • Solution Architecture leadership, expertise and delivery for ServiceNow based consulting initiatives and pre-sales engagements
  • Define business problems/opportunities with constraints, goals, budgets and timelines
  • Propose and provide solution options business cases, prototypes and walk-throughs to all required levels of stakeholders
  • Document and gain acceptance / approvals of selected final solutions
  • Execute architectural solutions in capacity as a ServiceNow leader, subject matter expert, compliance monitor, and go-to architectural authority on project
  • Coach and advise other Solution Architects and Developers

    Qualifications/Skills and Experience Requirements:

     

     

  • Minimum of 10 years of IT experience in ITSM space,Minimum of 5 years of ServiceNow Architecture, design and development experience
  • Experience developing ServiceNow solutions and technical design documents from business requirements
  • At least two full lifecycle ServiceNow implementations in the role of a lead architect
  • Enterprise/large Service Management implementation experience
  • Hands on experience beyond ITSM into ITOM, Project Portfolio Management, HR Management, Field Service Management
  • Programming expertise in Java, JavaScript or other functional programming language
  • Demonstrated understanding of ITIL practices

    Skills and Certifications

  • ServiceNow certifications - Service Now System Administrator, Certified Implementation Specialist is must
  • ITIL v3 certification
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong presentation development and Customer Presentation skills
  • Successful teamwork experience & demonstrated leadership abilities

Design, Develop, Deploy, Maintain and Enhance highly available web applications and APIS as part of high performing software engineering team working in the large scale agile model.

  • Apply responsive design principles to implement and customize user interfaces and views using web development technologies such as HTML, javascript on the Service Now platform
  • Design, develop and apply customizations and scripts to implement new features for end users using the best practices for the Service Management on ServiceNow SaaS
  • Applies the knowledge of automation and integration options on ServiceNow to meet the needs of end users
  • Design and build scalable microservices and REST APIs hosted on the cloud platforms such as Amazon Web Services or Pivotal Cloud Foundry to the standards to expose business capabilities for internal and external consumers
  • Work to a backlog of stories and tasks prioritised by the product owner and share a team level common understanding of the customer needs, product goals and design decisions
  • Improve time to market by using the existing CI/CD tools for self-managed deployment of new software version with zero down time, fast recovery, very low failure rate.
  • Be able to understand and update CI/CD automation build and deployment scripts to support a continuous integration and deployment process for the team.
  • Diagnose, de-bug and analyse production incidents, performance issues, load analysis and assist in capacity modelling
  • View, analyse and use real time application usage and performance data available on the dashboards and apply the learnings to improve customer experience, error rate, security, application performance
  • Provide technical input into effort estimation, impact assessment, application requirements with respect to functional, security, integration, performance, quality, and operations requirements.
  • Report to the team leads on progress, blockers, priority conflicts, potential issues and concerns.
  • Mentor junior resources by pair programming, tech talks and knowledge sharing sessions.

 Key Accountabilities

Data Engineer role is to plan, coordinate, and execute all activities related to the requirements interpretation, design and implementation of Big data and Machine Learning applications. This individual will apply proven industry and technology experience as well as communication skills, problem-solving skills, and knowledge of best practices to issues related to design, development, and deployment of mission-critical systems with a focus on quality application development and delivery.

This role is key to the success of the Customer Platforms function at Telstra and will be responsible and accountable for the following:

 

  • Ability to design and develop Big Data Applications
  • Ability to review vendor designs and recommended solutions based on industry best practises
  • Ability to provide technical governance across Big Data solutions at Telstra
  • Assess and improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the Big Data application solutions to ensure user requirements and business objectives are met in a timely and cost effective manner
  • Understand overall business operations and develops innovative solutions to help improve productivity
  • Ability to understand and design provisioning solutions at Telstra and how CRM interacts with provisioning layers.
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills needed to support enterprise high availability applications
  • Coordinate with technical resource within and outside of B2B Digitisation.
  • Monitor process of software configuration/development/testing to assure quality deliverable.
  • Ensure standards of QA are being met
  • Review deliverables to verify that they meet client and contract expectations; Implement and enforce high standards for quality deliverables
  • Analyses performance and capacity issues of the highest complexity.
  • Demonstrate thought Leadership in Big data and Machine Learning.
  • Assists leadership with development and management of new application capabilities to improve productivity
