Looking for: Commission Lead

Success Criteria:

Management of the identified relationships between Telstra and Dealers/Licensees in an effort to fulfil the financial obligation between Telstra and its key partners as per the CCG Customer Relationship Model, by:

  • Manage indirectly a team of commissions specialist 
  • Provide SME support to the team
  • Manage any escalations from Internal and External Stakeholders impacting commissions
  • Providing commission, reporting and claim-related responses to enable the Dealer/Licensee to rectify issues as arising;
  • Identifying the need for, and providing knowledge transfer/training for Dealers/Licensees; and respond to medium-volume, medium-duration customer contacts (phone, email, Internet etc) in order to meet prescribed performance and service standards.        
  • Identification of issues that may be of broader impact to the group, with input/recommendation to their resolution.
  • Contribution to a positive and productive work environment through applications of Telstra values leadership of and participation in key projects as agreed in KRAs
  • Ensure that all queries/issues received through the CCG team are processed on time, accurately and within business rules, with complete and appropriate documentation retained on file for audit purposes.
  • Ensure information that is provided to internal and external customers is accurate, timely and in line with organisational service policies and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant Corporate policies, processes, procedures and practices.
  • Ensure continuous improvement of processes and systems through action to identify, investigate and resolve issues with the involvement of appropriate personnel /work groups.
  • ensure that all special project obligations are undertaken and completed with full commitment and participation to the best of one’s abilities.
  • Manage, run and update Lavastorm graphs and analytics to process and reduce claim volumes.
  • Manage priority claims and dealer claim queries via the Claims manager and/or the Channel relationship and Support team
  • Ensure that all manual files/sales loads for the week/month are reviewed and sent to the payment team prior to payment runs commencing
  • Contribution to discussion and issues resolution at both a team level and the wider CCG team
  • Assist  team members  with claim related queries and follow-up with appropriate teams within CCG
  • Provide training assistance for existing and new team members
  • Provide miscellaneous/adhoc reporting as requested within agreed timeframes.

Qualifications/Experiences 

Experience - 4 - 8 years of relevant experience.

About the role:

The data engineer will work with the rest of the team across the full lifecycle of developing and deploying insightful data products using open source frameworks, languages such as Scala and Python, and Big Data tools and techniques, with particular focus on designing and building streamlined data pipelines, applications and frameworks.

This is an opportunity to work on some cutting-edge and green-field projects in the areas of AI, advanced analytics, and analytics-enabled software products.

The ideal candidate will bring large-scale systems and data engineering experience, particularly in Hadoop and Hybrid Cloud environments, and practical design and implementation skills. They will be comfortable discussing technical concepts with non-technical audiences and working with data scientists and software engineers to transition analytical transformations and algorithms to production

Job role: Data Engineering Specialist

To be successful in the role, you’ll.

  • Work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders across Telstra to clearly identify significant business challenges that can be addressed with data-driven applications
  • Lead/participate in the scoping and implementation of data products to deliver end-to-end solutions, e.g. to improve customer experience, to increase productivity, and to optimize the Telstra network
  • Contribute to the design, development and curation of key Big Data assets and data products
  • Communicate findings to business and technical audiences, internal and external stakeholders
  • Develop best practices for automation, continuous integration and automated testing, and continuous delivery
  • Within a hybrid (on-premise and cloud) environment, make intelligent use of cloud facilities while being the custodian for secure practices and longer-term maintainability and support
  • Be an expert in design for scalability, making effective use of tools such as Hadoop/YARN and Spark
  • Enable automation of builds, testing, and deployment - adopting DevOps practices
  • Partner closely with business analysts, data scientists, and data engineers to:
    • Develop frameworks and patterns that will enable operationalization of processes employing advanced analytics
    • Identify data sources relevant to solving business problems
    • Participate in the design of the optimal combination of data sources and analytical techniques for each problem

Qualification –

Essential

  • 8+ yrs of experience in IT, 5+ yrs in data engineering role
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts and plans in a clear, precise, and actionable manner
  • Demonstrable experience working with large data sets (>10TB) and with distributed computing tools and data structures
  • Experience manipulating and analysing complex, high-volume, high dimensionality data from varying sources
  • Strong coding skills in a data intensive environment
  • Knowledge of agile software engineering technical practices, such as test-driven development and continuous integration / continuous deployment.
  • Ability to strongly advocate technical positions while still appreciating alternative proposals
  • Commitment to excellence in both engineering and meta practices such as design for safety, documentation for future team members, communication, good governance of overall environment complexity and cost effectiveness
  • Strong inter-personal skills and experience working effectively in multi-functional teams

High desirable
  • Experience working in advanced analytics or machine learning environments
  • Experience building data pipelines in a Hadoop environment using the Apache Spark framework
  • Experience across both on-premise and cloud computing infrastructure.

Job role: Data Analytics – Senior Specialist

To be successful in the role, you’ll.

  • Establish methods and tools and best practice to gather data, process data, and minimise variables and data limitations, explore, profile and verify data quality
  • Leverage data system and platform capabilities to solve new data problems and create data engineering solutions
  • Map data between source systems, data warehouses and data marts, creating supporting documentation on the data process flow
  • Engage with stakeholders across the enterprise to understand and address the needs of business problems in the delivery and integration of complex data platforms and insights
  • Engage with stakeholders across the enterprise to understand where to source data ownership and platform ownership for complex data platforms and insights
  • Define appropriate metrics in business context, build exploratory visualisations to demonstrate outcomes via proof of concept solutions
  • Support the preparation of data design ideas through a combination of data sources, analytical techniques and insight generation
  • Communicate data concepts and insights with stakeholders in the delivery of solutions
  • Liaise with data scientists and analysts to manage and mitigate the impact of data quality issues and develop enterprise best practice for data experimentation

Qualification –

  • Advanced skills in open source languages, analytical and visualisation tools (e.g. Python, Spark, R, Alteryx, Lavastorm, SAS, Tableau, SPLUNK, Power BI, QlikView)
  • Extensive experience in Business Analysis using various analysis tools and techniques, including
  • Working knowledge of JIRA, Rally, Confluence, Office 365 suite
  • Be able to work to deadlines and manage multiple complex activities concurrently
  • Solid experience in Agile and Scrum delivery teams
  • Data mining – ability to uncover or discover previously unknown insights from the available source data
  • Sound scripting and data modelling skills and proficiency in relational databases such as SQL Server, Oracle, Teradata, Hive etc
  • Intermediate knowledge of the tools, concepts, methodologies, processes, and techniques of business improvement and lean six sigma
  • Expert in the definition of epics, stories, tasks and acceptance criteria
  • Demonstrated track record of delivery achievement together with ability to understand broader business strategic objectives

About the role:

Lead the design and development of Use Case solutions that deliver customer experience improvements running on Telstra Big Data platforms. The role includes operating Telstra’s Big Data Platforms that enable Telstra teams to leverage data, improve customer experience and deliver productivity gains. The role includes developing platform specific technology roadmaps and investment recommendations, having due regard for how this technology inter-works with other technologies to deliver data platform products and infrastructure at defined service level standards.

To be successful in the role, you’ll.

  • Leading, facilitating and developing data engineering and data ingestion pipelines
  • Designing and developing Use Cases that meet business stakeholder requirements
  • A solid understanding of big data engineering and ingestion tools, networking and technology is essential
  • The focus is on Spark streaming, Apache Flink and API's via Elasticsearch indexes. Develop structured, clean reusable code that can easily be followed by Telstra staff and ensure industry best practices are adhered to
  • Working collaboratively across the business with key stakeholders
  • Developing front end website architecture
  • Designing user interactions on websites
  • Developing back end website applications
  • Creating servers and databases for functionality
  • Ensuring cross-platform optimisation
  • Seeing through a project from conception to finished product
  • Showcase outputs of discovery & ensure scope is agreed
  • Decompose requirements into epics, features and user stories that deliver value
  • Support the identification of data and online content required for the solution
  • Support the development of user interface mock-ups
  • Support business analyst in developing user stories including acceptance criteria
  • Review test cases
  • Communicate solution changes to the project team and ensure these are change managed
  • Create showcases representing work completed in an iteration

Qualification –

Essential

  • 8+ yrs of exp in the field of IT, 5+ yrs in big data platform
  • Experience working with Hadoop based Big Data platforms
  • Spark Streaming (Scala), Flink & Cassandra solid & proven experience
  • Takes advantage of the different high availability features of each platform element, and how they interact
  • Coding with speed of execution as an imperative
  • Ability to think outside the box and drive strategies and solutions to improve the big data platform and processes
  • Strong experience in data engineering/advanced data analytics.
  • Developing front end and back end website architecture.
  • Proven experience in performance tuning and stability & load testing of big data streaming technologies; Spark Streaming, Cassandra, Nifi, Kafka
  • Strengths in API development
  • Strong communication skills.

High desirable

  • Machine learning – ability to use and/or develop algorithms that provide the ability for the system to learn and predict from the source data
  • Predictive modelling – ability to leverage available data and predictive modelling techniques, to predict future outcomes / ability to proactively recommend the next best action based on future predictions
  • Demonstrable experience building interfaces with Telstra systems
  • Solid experience in Agile and Scrum delivery teams
  • HortonWorks/Cloudera certification.

About the role:

Lead the design, development and operations of Telstra’s Big Data Platforms that enable Telstra teams to leverage data to improve customer experience and deliver productivity gains. The role includes developing platform specific technology roadmaps and making technology investment recommendations, having due regard for how this technology inter-works with other technologies, to deliver data platform products and infrastructure to defined service level standards.

  • Working collaboratively with key stakeholders including engineering, data warehouse, analytics and business stakeholders to develop and maintain a 1-2 year roadmap for Telstra’s Consolidated Big Data platform
  • Develop funding bids by the end of Q2 each financial year aligned with stakeholder requirements and to ensure Telstra is at the forefront of Big Data and Analytics capabilities to empower Telstra stakeholders
  • Build the resource plan, operating budget and investment plan to deliver the program outcomes while identifying and managing risks accordingly.
  • Accountable for the delivery of reliable Big Data platforms that ensures Telstra operational teams can depend on the platform to provide 24x7 service.
  • Establish meaningful KPIs and performance reporting for our consolidated Big Data platform (Telstra Data Platform) that drives the right behaviour and delivers a world class customer experience
  • Work with and hold vendors accountable ensuring that they deliver value to Telstra
  • Foster a high performance culture within the team, targeted at having a highly engaged and motivated workforce.
  • Provide feedback and development to all staff in line with Telstra’s HR polices to enhance staff performance and making Telstra a great place to work.

About the role:

About the role:

As a Product Specialists in this portfolio, you will be part of a team responsible for all aspects of running products and services, with emphasis around colocation. You will work with Senior Product Specialist and across the value chain to manage the lifecycle of co-location product portfolio. 

Key responsibilities:

  • Contribute skills and experience to the team to enable it run co-location products within Telstra with a focus on lifecycle strategy across all relevant segment channels
  • Collaborate within the product team and group, and across the value chain to create a superior end-to-end customer experience across the product lifecycle that drives growth and profitability
  • Contribute commercial acumen and product economics skills to enable the team to continuously improve product performance, including identifying and addressing market trends, commercial matters, competitive threats and regulatory issues and optimising product profitability. Undertake revenue modelling to communicate position for portfolio whilst calling out risks and opportunities
  • Participate in major sales activities, including: product and services training, customers escalations and support for key bids
  • Work cross functionally with Product Marketing, Sales Teams and Partners to create sales campaigns to drive uptake of products and services and improve EBITDA
  • Work with Product Marketing to maintain and provide content for product related collateral and sales tools and position the product for all markets and all buyer types
  • Work on optimising the end to end customer engagement process (presales to post-sales support) to deliver a better customer experience.
  • Participate and embrace the ways of working mindsets and practices for the team

To be successful in the role, you’ll need:

  • 7+ years of experience in industry with a Bachelor Degree – in Computer Science, Business, Engineering or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in colocation and/or data centre products.
  • Good understanding of Product Lifecyle.
  • Experience and/or good knowledge of international market such as APAC
  • Strong analytical skills ability to calculate and articulate ROI of products
  • Good understanding of product economics
  • Strong excel skills and understanding of how to build a forecast 
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Able to work in a team environment
  • High attention to details
  • Is able to deliver to timelines that have been committed to
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
