The Talent Acquisition (TA) Specialist role will focus on ensuring we deliver best practice outcomes across all aspects of the recruitment process including; strategic sourcing, attracting and placing the best talent to shape the evolving culture of Telstra.

In this diverse and challenging role, you’ll apply a dual-lens in the work that you perform. Your key focus will be to partner with key business stakeholders to plan and develop effective recruitment strategies for all types of recruitment services, as well as collaborate with other members of the TA Delivery teams to ensure seamless execution of recruitment activities and experience for customers and stakeholders.

In the role, you’ll play an active role in coaching and building relationships with TA Delivery and Support teams to help drive best practice recruitment processes and successful hiring outcomes on all recruitment activities.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Manage and work collaboratively with TA Delivery teams to attract and deliver on hiring the best talent to shape Telstra through efficient quality approaches to sourcing, assessing and selection, and executing in collaboration with other teams/individuals as required
  • In partnership with Hiring Manager’s and TA Delivery teams, deliver the best talent to shape Telstra through the end to end management of the recruitment and selection process.
  • Demonstrate a talent led approach by working with TA Delivery teams, to develop and manage the execution of strategic sourcing strategies that enable us to quickly identify and connect with the best talent in the market.
  • Ensure that candidate, hiring manager and other key stakeholder’s experience a quality of care that is aligned with Telstra’s Values and standards of care.
  • Build strong relationships with your business stakeholders to proactively understand their business and how we can add value to their business resulting in becoming a trusted advisor.
  • Work with business stakeholders to understand upcoming workforce plans, enabling you to coach TA Delivery teams to build and maintain a healthy talent pipeline for future roles where possible
  • Contribute to a culture that supports and encourages a world-class talent acquisition experience; service-oriented, collaborative and flexible
  • Ensure diversity and inclusion is top of mind during all recruitment activities, ensuring we stay committed to delivering gender-balanced shortlists, and all other agreed recruitment diversity initiatives
  • Drive a strong partnership with Talent Acquisition and Support teams to ensure a seamless experience for our customers
  • Provide ongoing care, coaching and mentoring to TA Delivery teams
  • Develop effective and collaborative relationships with key stakeholders across the organization including members of the wider Global Business Services and Transformation & People communities
  • Provide consultation and advice on market and competitor information, communicate recruitment trends & relevant insights to key stakeholders utilizing data to inform decisions
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of the talent acquisition model, its processes and procedures
  • Provide thought leadership to ensure alignment of the overall strategy
  • Actively contribute to the resourcing capacity view for the team, including future capacity planning
  • Ensure commercial oversight when closing requisitions or considering bespoke recruitment solutions
  • Ensure process and policy are adhered to and all mandatory learning requirements are completed as and when requested
  • Take reasonable care for your own safety and the safety of others, comply with and implement any reasonable Telstra HSE instruction, policy, standard, minimum requirement or procedure, and support Telstra to meet its duties under the relevant safety and environmental legislation

Essential :

  • End to end recruitment experience across in-house and/ or agency models
  • Strategic sourcing experience
  • Solving problems of moderate complexity in a customer/client-facing environment
  • Business partnering and/ or account management experience
  • Maintaining stakeholder relationships both internal and external
  • Coaching and mentoring on process and policy
  • Managing multiple tasks of moderate complexity
  • Excellent communication, negotiating and influencing skills; good at extracting the right information
  • Experience working efficiently in a fast-paced environment where you’re accountable for delivering to multiple stakeholders
  • A creative, proactive and solutions focussed mindset
  • Business/Human Resources or relative Tertiary qualification preferred with a total of 6 - 8 years experience in a Product Development organization
