The GMNS – Sales Specialist is a direct selling role which includes sales, revenue targets and customer satisfaction. Successful hire will be expected to sell managed Network Services product [Global Managed Network Services (GMNS)] to the client and prospect base within Telstra Global as overlay, technical /product specialist sales lead.

Global Managed Network Services (GMNS) Sales Specialist 

The primary role of a GMNS Sales Specialist is to work alongside Account Managers (existing customers) and Business Development Managers (new logo targets) to proactively prospect and target customer opportunities using Consultative Selling in their defined, industry based, territory.  Sales specialists are expected to:

    • Identify and qualify prospective customers and new opportunities;
    • Develop total solutions and propose such solutions, including customer presentations and documentation; successful closure of opportunities.
    • Contribute to building strong customer relationships based on Telstra Global core values.

Accountabilities:

The GMNS Sales Specialist is required to conduct themselves as a specialist Business Development Manager, undertaking the duties of:

    • Driving ‘first-meeting’s with customers and prospects;
    • sales pipeline growth linked to the GMNS portfolio;
    • achievement of targeted sales and volumes;
    • development of sound relationships with Account Teams, customers, Product Management teams and other such groups that contribute and influence the development and closure of opportunities

It is imperative that the GMNS Sales Specialist be recognised experts on Telstra's GMNS capabilities, encompassing (but not limited to);

  1. Managed Services IT Platform which comprises of the NMS/EMS, Co-relation engine, Service Management & Reporting
  2. Various ITSM processes comprising of Incident Management, Problem Management, Change Management & Configuration Management, Service Improvement
  3.  Reporting functionalities from Availability, Uptime & Performance Reporting. Additionally VAS reporting in the form of Application Reporting, Threshold Monitoring & Reporting and Written Analysis Reporting

Management of Sales processes: Operation of and procedural understanding of Telstra Global internal sales management processes, including Bid Management, Commercials & Finance, Legal, and other such corporate governance and due diligence matters.

Qualifications/Skills Needed:

  • Subject Matter Expertise – required to specialise on two levels. 1. sales capability and the ability to provide appropriate professional and consultative sales service to Telstra Global customers and Account Teams.  2. solution development.  Sales Specialists are required to provide subject matter expertise in their field of operation and provide articulation of product, solution, organisational and customer core competencies, value propositions, total cost of ownership and competitive advantages of solutions to customers
  • Needs demonstrable expertise and experience in Sales and /or pre-sales design and solution architecture of GMNS offers which meet both customer requirements and vendor capability in the market
  • Tertiary qualification in a technical discipline such as Engineering or Computing preferred, equivalent experience required
  • Minimum of 5 year experience in a customer facing sales role with proven background in selling or managing Managed MPLS/IPVPN Networks.
  • Familiarity with DC, Virtualization and Cloud based services
  • Understanding of Managed Services Components -
    • IT Service Management (ITSM) Tools like BMC Remedy, HP SM, Service-Now etc.
    • ITIL Processes (ITIL v3), Service Support, Service Delivery processes.
    • Network Management Systems/Element Monitoring Systems (NMS/EMS) platforms such as HP NNM, CA Nimsoft, Whatsup Gold, Solarwinds
  • Excellent communication and customer relationship management skills including effective information gathering, presentation and negotiation skills, and establishing and maintaining customer rapport
  • Demonstrable knowledge and experience of conceptual solution design considerations (WAN /LAN) to support any of the technologies including storage networking, IOPS, data network and security concerns within the solution and network domain

Qualifications/Experiences:

  • With at least 5 years relevant experience in the same role
  • Has extensive planning and governance background; ability to develop annual strategic plans and manage quarterly governance forums
  • With strong executive stakeholder management
  • Operational management background - adept to managing the detailed operation of an Alliance, including sales reporting, investment fund management, rebate claims, and other similar operational and reporting requirement
  • With strong product and solution knowledge
  • Sales management experience with an ability to contribute to sales opportunity management to ensure that the Alliance optimises its sales performance
  • Demand generation and the ability to develop campaigns and other initiatives, as well as contribute to the strategy for major events to drive pipeline build.

We are looking for a Cloud Consultant (Data) who will need to demonstrate the ability to translate business drivers and needs into technology solutions. This will include communications at all levels of management and the ability to understand and model business cases including financial considerations

As a Cloud Consultant (Data), you will be a skilled industry expert and thought leader, driving growth and developing customer solutions across Cloud Technologies, Data Engineering Technologies, Development Technologies and Development Methodologies.

You also must be able to sell yourself to a customer, as you are what the customer is purchasing. You must be able to put customers concerns at rest and show competency and experience at the task at hand.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Sell yourself into accounts by demonstrating to customers technical competency and experience
  • Lead discussions with enterprise customers on the use of cloud computing, data engineering and development

The ideal candidate will have highly developed skills and experience in customer management, development, enterprise consulting and development solutions, including:

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience with relevant cloud technologies
  • Minimum 8 years’ experience with relevant technologies beyond the cloud
  • In depth knowledge of relational and non-relational database solutions
  • In depth knowledge of designing/delivery of data solutions into Azure, GCP, or AWS
  • Experience in designing/delivery of data solutions on the edge for data ingestion
  • Experience with data lake and data warehouse architectures
  • Experience with ETL tools, such as Azure Data Factory, AWS Glue
  • Exposure to with building data platforms using Infrastructure as Code is a plus (i.e. ARM, Cloud Formation, Terraform)
  • Exposure to Data Science technologies such as machine learning, deep learning, and data modelling
  • Exposure to Hadoop or Spark based compute engines
  • Exposure to Jupyter notebooks
  • Exposure to visualisation tools such as PowerBI, Tableau, or QlikView
  • Exposure to multiple agile methodologies, best practices and development technologies
  • Exposure to classic waterfall methodologies
  • Ability to define and understand customer problems
  • Ability to collaborate and work part of a larger team
  • Good communication skills, high level of technical expertise and extremely passionate about technology
  • Up to date certifications on one or more relevant technologies is desired
