About the Role

As a Senior Sales Executive (Business Development Manager), you will have an exciting opportunity to leverage your experience in delivering creative, innovative satellite teleport and technology solutions along with your deep understanding of the satellite and telecommunications market, to help customers meet their network and teleport requirements across Australia and Asia Pacific.

Driving aggressive growth across the quickly expanding satellite market is a key part of our broader Americas roadmap, and you will be responsible for sales and revenue growth across the satellite and federal verticals focusing on new business through new logo acquisitions.   The ideal candidate for this role thrives in an environment where they drive the identification, pursuit and successful capture and win of new customers and new business sales for the company.

Some key responsibilities include:

  • Full sales lifecycle management from prospect and lead identification, outreach, engagement, proposals, and closing to post-sales customer management.
  • Present Telstra technical & sales materials professionally and clearly while advocating Telstra , products in the market at customer meetings, conferences, and other public events.
  • Negotiate with all levels of client representatives to build broad and long-term relationships that allow follow-on growth sales
  • Translate between business and technical requirements, finding solutions that work for the client while simultaneously working hand in hand internally with Solutions Architects (SA) and the satellite engineering team to ensure we are providing the best solution to meet customer needs.
  • Communicate clearly and consistently with internal Telstra stakeholders, particularly the Engineering team in driving the creation of technical solutions to propose to meet customer needs
  • Maintain sales pipeline and opportunities forecast
  • Prepare quarterly review of short- and long-term sales forecasts for the Telstra leadership team including suggested Product and network investments and strategy suggestions.
  • Work in conjunction with internal teams and customers on contract negotiations including driving resolutions and answers with legal, Product and engineering teams.
  • Provide product and market feedback for the Product, pricing and engineering teams.
  • Work collaboratively with across company functions including finance, legal, engineering and product to deliver targeted results.
  • Self-starter and self-motivated with an entrepreneurial spirit and the ability to collaborate to solve complex business difficulties.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • 5+ years of experience in the satellite industry
  • 7+ years of experience in a customer-facing sales role
  • Current relationship with resolution makers (satellite providers and indirect channels to the government); understanding of strategic directions and major government programs
  • Knowledge of the main market segments / verticals served by satellite data communications: cell backhaul, trunking, VSAT, maritime, aero
  • Achieved Revenue and Sales Target for defined portfolio
  • Well-developed consultative selling and customer solution selling skills

Working as part of our team at the Telstra Store Eastgardens, you will be the face and voice of Telstra! Talking to our new and existing customers, you will deliver personalized service and advice to uncover their individual needs and match them with great solutions.

On any given day, you could be sharing your knowledge about our services and the latest gadgets we have on offer, or chatting to a customer about international roaming offers to best suit their travel needs. You could even be kitting up a customer with wireless devices to keep them connected on the go – it’s a job with plenty of challenge and variety to keep things interesting.

  • Casual Positions!!
  • Store Hours: Monday to Wednesday 9.00am - 5.30pm, Thursday 9.00am - 9.00pm, Friday 9.00am - 5.30pm, Saturday 9.00am - 5.00pm, Sunday 10.00am - 5.00pm
  • 4 full days availability from Monday to Sunday is required (especially on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays)!

Any secondary language skills (Mandarin or Cantonese) to liaise with our customers is also plus!
