The Assistant Store Manager is critical in maximising sales and provide quality and cost-effective customer service to in-bound Telstra customers and manage the retail shop operations in the absence of the manager.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Coach Customer Advisors day-to-day for the delivery of sales and customer experience targets.
  • In the absence of the Store Manager, act as manager ensuring the team maximises sales
  • Responsible for induction of new team members, all core and ongoing training.
  • Execute business initiatives to meet and achieve store targets for each quarter of the financial year by setting and tracking monthly sales and customer experience targets.
  • Monitor the store’s performance to achieve sales and customer experience targets.
  • Monitor the store’s compliance against central operating standards and processes, and manage performance to improve operational excellence.
  • Resolve basic store level customer complaints.
  • Ensure adherence the agreed customer sales model within the store (E.g. Telstra Branded Experience).
  • Manage the shop floor to control customer flow and store traffic (e.g. EFM)
  • Manage staff to customer demand and operational requirements.

This is a permanent full-time role to be based at Telstra Store Elizabeth St. (Ground Floor Block Arcade, 96 Elizabeth St. Melbourne VIC 3000). The role directly reports to the Retail Store Manager Lead.

To be successful in the role, you will have:

  • People leadership experience in retail sales management particularly in Telco industry
  • Outstanding communications skills
  • Advanced understanding of customer needs and proficient in resolving customer issues
  • Proven track record working within a high-pressure, high-pace, customer-orientated retail environment
  • Advanced ability to execute business improvement initiatives, and support the change agenda in store
  • Ability to successfully execute against key metrics (financial and customer)
  • Ability to action store improvement opportunities

How does the Pricing Analyst fit into the team? You will be contributing to the business strategy in ensuring profitable growth, compliance, and competitiveness of price offers to new and existing customers.

As the Pricing Analyst, you'll be responsible for:  

• The preparation of accurate financial pricing models in MS Excel to aid with decision making and the development of pricing hypothesis.

• Making recommendations for consideration in the formulation of Strategic initiatives, based on fact based data analytics

• Developing and maintaining a current market intelligence pricing database to aid in market-relevant pricing decisions

• Undertaking pricing analysis, research, modelling, forecasting & diagnosis to identify patterns, trends or issues that may need a response

• Interpreting data/outcomes to highlight business problems, risks and opportunities.

• Making recommendations for consideration in the formulation of tactical and operational plans and initiatives

• Co-ordinating post-implementation reviews of projects or plans, and analyse their impact on the achievement of the groups KPIs.

• Communicating findings and make recommendations to sales teams and business leaders

• Developing, undertaking or contributing to research projects

To be successful in the role, the hiring team is looking for the following:

• Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, economics, or similar education

• Extensive experience in Pricing- ideally Telecom Pricing

• Demonstrable experience in a financial / commercial / business analytics role, with advanced financial modelling, analytical and quantitative expertise

• Experience in understanding, interpreting and analysing complex business issues

• Experience in focused market research activities to support business decision making.

• Ability to clearly present complex analytics into clearly articulated outcomes and recommendations

• An international multicultural approach, ability to work in virtual teams

• The ability to understand International Connectivity and Managed services products within an international environment

• Advance skills in data modelling or similar

• Effective oral and written communication skills

  • Store Hours: Monday to Wednesday 9.00am - 5.30pm, Thursday 9.00am - 9.00pm, Friday 9.00am - 5.30pm, Saturday 9.00am - 5.00pm, Sunday 10.00am - 5.00pm
  • Full time flexibility over the week (7 days) is required

We're a small team primarily based in Adelaide and operate in the exciting world of Social Media. Our goal to provide a best in class service and sales experience though platforms such as Facebook and Twitter.

We are looking to expand our team with two new superstars. We have 1x Permanent and 1 x Six Month Opportunities available within our team.

You will provide high quality and commercially effective customer service to Telstra customers through responding to customer sales and/or service enquiries relating to a range of Telstra products and services, delivering solutions uniquely designed for each customer.

Who we look for

To thrive in a career with our team, you will be confident, knowledgeable and resilient. You’ll work well within our small team and bring a positive attitude and drive to exceed KPI's.

  • Strong written communication skills – allowing you to easily connect and develop rapport with others and drive customer satisfaction
  • Previous experience with core Telstra systems (e.g. Siebel) is ideal, but not required
  • A passion for customer service
  • The ability to think critically - we operate in a very public and high risk platform which requires quick thinking and the ability to adapt
  • Successful candidates must be able to commit to working between the hours of 7am-11pm, 7 days a week on rotating rosters.
