We've made you an offer and you're going to be joining team Telstra! Congratulations!
I’ve accepted my offer of employment but I haven’t heard from anyone yet. What should I do?
Firstly, congratulations! Once you have accepted your offer you should receive a confirmation notification letting you know it has been received. Feel free to get in touch with your recruiter who can answer any outstanding questions you may have before your start date.
How soon can I start?
Your start date will be coordinated between yourself, your recruiter, and your hiring manager. While we like your enthusiasm, your start date will depend on what works best for everyone so we can best support you and your transition into the business. We look forward to seeing you!
What sort of learning opportunities are available for new staff members?
Once you’ve accepted an offer from Telstra you’ll be asked to join our onboarding portal called ‘Get Started’. This will give you all the relevant info you’ll need to set you up including bank and tax details, setting up your tools of devices and more.
Once you commence, your manager will take you through on-the-job learning and you’ll also need to complete our Mandatory Compliance Training.
Throughout your career journey with us, you’ll have access to many online accredited courses, some of which are free while others can be funded via Telstra or at your own expense and be discussed with your manager.
Does Telstra fund international relocation to Australia?
Where a role exists that requires certain skills and capabilities that are not readily available in the Australian market, international relocation is something that can be offered on a case by case basis. This is something that your recruiter will discuss with you if you’re an overseas applicant applying for a role in Australia.
What sort of visa requirements do international applications need to have before they apply?
In order to apply to any of our roles, it’s expected that our applicants have the appropriate working rights to work in that country. A strong understanding of the English language is also a requirement.
Does Telstra offer any sponsorship opportunities?
We do not offer sponsorship to potential candidates as Telstra’s first preference is to support individuals who have working rights for that country. In some instances there are exceptions, particularly when we are unable to find the most suitable candidate with working rights. These positions will be highlighted when advertised.
