About the role:

As a senior member of the team, you will play an active role in providing hands on operational support, advice, and oversight on the security of network devices, and server platforms in a heavily virtualised network environment. This role reports directly in to the Managed Government Services Principal and will play a pivotal role in strategic projects for continuous improvement.

Some of your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Conduct reviews, identify and initiate continuous improvement
  • Drive and manage the remediation of technical issues
  • Participate in the design and operational support of a complex internet gateway environment involving routing switching, firewalls and load balancing.
  • Provide input into and maintain technical documentation
  • Support and mentor level 2 and level 3 staff in day-to-day activities
  • Participate in security investigations as directed
  • Conduct complex investigations required to support customer service requests and maintenance
  • Deliver and/or develop technical training, updates & or briefings to staff to ensure understanding of process & procedures

 

So, who are we looking for?

The right person for this role will have about 2-3 years of proven experience in a senior security engineering position, and who has a track record in hands on operational problems solving roles. Security certifications like CISM and CISSP as well as project management experience will be highly advantageous, but not totally essential. We are looking for someone who can take a proactive approach to work and who is a natural self-starter.

Please note: Candidates must be Australian Citizens and have current Baseline clearance as a minimum to be considered. This role will require you to hold and maintain an Australian Government NV1 security clearance.
