What you’ll do

Your primary role at Telstra will be to provide technical security services to our clients. You’ll share this responsibility with our other consulting engineers, which will require you to perform both pre-sales and post-sales services.

  • Deliver outstanding Technical Security Consulting services to Telstra clients.
  • Drive the implementation of projects. This can include supervision of other team members, basic project management and managing support considerations in addition to the technical components of the project.
  • Act as a Subject Matter Expert across one or more vendor technologies, as required, supporting the development of customer solution architecture, design and implementation in consultation with the appropriate Architects.
  • Assist organisations with the design, deployment and automation of cyber security related controls
  • Continuously develop new skills to address the ever changing threat landscape

About you

  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Work well in a team or alone
  • Have strong problem solving skills and an ability to take initiative
  • You are flexible and willing to learn new skills
  • 3+ years’ experience in a technical security role, such as level 2/3 operations, design, systems analyst or integration specialist
  • Strong foundational knowledge in at least one of the following areas is mandatory, multiple areas highly desirable
    • Enterprise networks
    • UNIX / Wintel administration
    • Programming languages, scripting and development tools e.g. Python, HCL/HIL, PowerShell, Git etc.
  • Experience and/or certification with the following vendors is advantageous:
  • Palo Alto Networks
  • Splunk
  • Cisco
  • AWS
  • Microsoft Azure
