We are looking for a resourceful, experienced Marketing Specialist to join our growing team in San Francisco. This is an incredible opportunity for a Bay Area marketer to work with a great team and expand your skills in the technology and media segment.

The role of a Marketing Specialist is responsible for guiding marketing strategies, creating and delivering marketing programs to support the growth and expansion of the Tech and Media segment and additional marketing initiatives.  The successful candidate will manage multiple projects and demonstrate both creativity and attention to detail to help drive business growth. You will be required to provide a wide range of marketing support to the local sales teams and other internal as well as external stakeholders spanning events, demand generation campaigns, communications, digital and channel marketing as well as collateral development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Creating, and delivering marketing programs to support the growth and expansion of company products and services
  • Develop and manage a portfolio for the Tech and Media segment, communications, marketing programs and initiatives in support of brand strategy and targeted segment plans.
  • Creates, conveys brand messages to improve brand awareness and ensuring creatives are on-brand across all customer-facing elements of the campaign, including; media, advertising, customer education materials, collateral and support materials.
  • Monitor the effectiveness of campaigns and intervene as required, to ensure optimal campaign effectiveness.
  • Assist with or prepare briefs for creative design undertaken by marketing agencies and ensure quality deliverables on time and within budget.
  • Acts as a go-to resource for up-to-date, accurate research and market information.  Will be responsible to research and analyses a variety of industry market information, including; market trends, competitor offerings, and demographic data
  • Presents findings of the industry to sales and marketing teams to help guide the direction and activities of the segment
  • Identifies the appropriate media channels where each product or service's marketing materials can be delivered to the public
  • Enforce brand marketing guidelines throughout each product to create a cohesive feel to each project
  • Strong experience and background in event management
  • Collaborate with legal and compliance teams to ensure all marketing campaigns and materials are in compliance.
  • Provides expert direction and insight to marketing staff members throughout each project or campaign
  • Tracks marketing strategy results closely and creates detailed reports with data analysis and other feedback
  • Adjusts marketing plans as needed in response to data tracking efforts
  • Lead generation report findings and results to upper management and executives

Key Accountability Metrics:

  • Marketing support for the Tech and Media new growth expansion in the Americas - will be required to support the local sales leader on delivering strategic and successful results developed for the Tech and Media segment and will also be responsible in strategic customer engagements on an ad hoc basis
  • Market Research/Demand Generation - will measure market data on a regional level on ways to sell Telstra products in the Americas. The candidate will work with the Senior Marketing Specialist for the Americas leading and supporting the execution of global demand generation campaigns to attract new sales leads, nurture prospects and communicate effectively with existing customers across both online and offline channels. Will undertake localisation of campaign content, while self-managing the full campaign lifecycle (data, creative, digital content, lead distribution, ROI reporting) using Telstra’s marketing automation system. This will involve list creation and management. The role requires a ‘hands-on’ approach to tactical execution of campaigns across email marketing, direct marketing, social media, webinars, trial offers, telemarketing and inside sales
  • Event Management - manage events such as trade shows, seminars, roundtables, customer forums, hospitality/networking events across the West Coast to help support sales pipeline objectives. This includes the review, selection and negotiation with events agencies & vendors as well as ensuring consistency in messaging and branding to align with the overall company’s guideline. Close tracking on marketing leads from events & campaigns to evaluate results and provide post-mortem analysis. Travel will be required for key industry and customer events.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a field marketing & lead generation management 
  • Minimum of  5 years of experience in a marketing role
  • Strong analytical skills and reporting processes
  • Excellent written, verbal communication skills, public speaking and interpersonal communication
  • Knowledge and natural interest in B2B and technology marketing
  • Strong background in events management
  • The ability to establish, build and foster relationships with Telstra staff, suppliers and customers both local and global
  • Knowledge of Media Channels and Marketing Strategies
  • A recognized marketing qualification and passion for the marketing discipline
  • Attention to detail, strong organization skills and a Multi-Tasker        
  • Proficient in MS Office applications – Word, Outlook, Excel etc.
  • Background working within global/cross-functional teams within an agile environment
  • Experience with CRM (salesforce.com) and marketing automation software (Marketo and Eloqua)
  • Proficient with HTML/CSS and email marketing / marketing automation and Social Media platforms
