Be excited! Join Telstra Enterprise and represent Telstra’s largest customer undertaking in history. We are looking for a number of exceptional Project Coordinators to support our flagship client - the Department of Defence.

Telstra Enterprise will deliver for the Australian Defence Force’s Network Infrastructure for the next decade and beyond, supporting military operations in Australian and abroad. You will be part of the journey to transform the defence communication network and be an enabler in its transformation in several communication technologies such as fixed telecommunications, satellite and tactical networks.

As a Project Coordinator, you will be accountable for the delivery of work packages and small projects, executing allocated project tasks to agreed quality standards and timeframes, maintaining project tools and records, and reporting on the status of project tasks.

Your key responsibilities and major tasks include, but not limited to:

  • Managing all phases of the project, from individual Project initiation through to close, ensuring alignment with the original quote or Sales Business Case (SBC) and any additional quotes and Project Change Requests (PCRs)
  • Ensuring that all established Microsoft Project Schedules and timelines are followed effectively and escalations are in place to Management where slippages of milestones are identified.
  • Coordinating with Program Managers, Project Managers and Senior Management to discuss progress and find solutions to scheduling issues
  • Overseeing Project financial control and reporting; ensure Project financial controls are implemented and maintained throughout the Project lifecycle.
  • Producing high quality project reports
  • Ensuring all project stakeholders (both internal and external) are aware of, and deliver on, their responsibilities and accountabilities
  • Providing advice and assistance to the Project Managers, Program Managers and, as needed, Portfolio Managers on the challenges, development and delivery of Projects in Telstra.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Previous Project Coordination experience in a complex environment ideally with Defence
  • Excellent customer management skills
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with a proven record developing positive and transparent stakeholder relationships
  • Knowledge of Project Management Tools such as Services+ (SAP) and MS Project.
  • Excellent document control and management skills including writing and reviewing project documentation, schedules, time & expense reports and resource forecasts
  • Experience in contributing to business improvement initiatives
  • MS Project & SharePoint experience essential
  • Word, Excel & PowerPoint (Intermediate)
  • Strong administration, time and stakeholder management skills
  • Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM), or equivalent certification ITIL Certification (v2 or v3), v3 (desirable)
  • Australian Institute of Project Management (AIPM) Certification (desirable)

Please note: Candidates must be Australian Citizens and have current NV1 clearance minimum to be considered. This role will require you to hold and maintain an Australian Government NV1 security clearance.
