We are looking for a Business Specialist to join our team in London, UK working as part of the Operating Wholesale Voice Routing and Pricing team focusing on international voice calls. This team is responsible for the retail side and wholesale side (re-sellers) of international voice calls.

As the Business Specialist, you will manage the International Direct Dialling/voice calls (IDD) for your assigned destinations and offer commercial advice based off their analytics. You will manage commercial operations including the selection of the right supplier, pricing and cost management and deal management.

You are an important contributor in providing business insights through analysing, forecasting, reporting and monitoring our business and commercial information, that support the identification of business improvement programs. You thrive on providing the data, analysis and insights for critical decision-making purposes that support Telstra in reaching our strategic objectives as an organisation.

What you’ll be doing

  • Be responsible for the Pricing, Cost, Quality and growth opportunity aspects for your assigned destinations (locations will be global including UK, Ireland, Australia)
  • Analyse and define the cost base for each service level as well as define and issue the floor price to the sales team and ensure quality of service for each service level
  • Response to faults raised by Service Desk
  • Manage and represent the Voice Business in the resolution of faults
  • Competitive costing based on opportunities
  • Ongoing floor pricing updates
  • Positive contribution to Voice gross and net revenue
  • Provide subject matter expertise to the sales team such as providing commercial and technical input into bid proposals or deals proposed by the sales team
  • Assist with Investigation of traffic anomalies including fraud
  • Assess and suggest process and business improvements

To be successful in the role, you would need to have the following:

  • Commercial acumen experience in forecasting, pricing, cost, revenue understanding OR ability to put together a business proposal
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills with advanced working knowledge of databases
  • Ease with working with numbers
  • Tertiary qualifications with some exposure to financial and business concepts
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office skills (particularly Excel)
  • Be organised and deadline driven
  • Have the ability to work independently and manage workload efficiently
  • Have effective communication skills (dealing with internal, external and cross-team stakeholders
  • Excellent English communication skills (verbal and written) required
  • Adaptability working in multiple time zones

High Desirable skill:

  • Experience in CSGI (voice trading software) will be an added advantage
