What you’ll do

As a Senior UX Designer, you will drive the customer research and design to create and enhance the user experience for Telstra digital channels and products.

You will drive customer and business outcomes through user / customer centric design to deliver optimised designs that balance customer needs, business goals and implementation realities.

You will be responsible for leading day-to-day UX design activities and deliverables for our 1 year old, 4+ star rated My Telstra app and related digital touchpoints.

  • Lead UX design activities to meet user requirements, modelling end user experiences and developing corresponding workflow success criteria for product design
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders including product teams, product owners and dev squads to define and implement innovative solutions for product direction, visuals and user experience
  • Research and collaborate to produce detailed end to end customer journey maps that include analytics data to truly understand the as-is and to-be customer experience
  • Develop wireframes and prototypes to review the way that a user interacts with a system or product and prepare visualisation and validation of concepts via lo and hi fi mock-ups, wireframes and prototypes
  • Collect and/or analyse customer data including customer research, interviews, marketing groups and conduct user testing, profiling and persona development to assess and optimise user experiences
  • Establish and promote UX product design guidelines, best practices and standards.
  • Peer and stakeholder buy in through strong design rationale. Taking ownership of design outcomes from concept through to implementation.
  • Collaborate with visual & content designers to ensure that UX design intent is understood and reflected in final design specifications.

About you

  • Extensive customer centred design experience with a focus on digital experience design.
  • Experience in telco, or similar industry.
  • Experience in a senior design role ideally, in-house in a large corporate.
  • A strong track record in customer research and design
  • Competent with tools such as Sketch, Invision, Axure and Miro
  • Proven experience with designing for mobile apps
  • Thorough understanding of, and respect for, inclusive design.
  • Experience working in design projects with multi-disciplinary teams across multiple locations, using agile practices (eg scrum, implementation sprints
