About the role:
An exciting and rewarding opportunity has become available for a highly motivated individual to join Telstra in Canberra as a Senior Solutions Architect servicing the Department of Defence.
As a Senior Solutions Architect, you will play a critical and strategic role in providing great solutions to customers and driving profitable business growth to Telstra. As a senior member of the Solutions Hub team, you will apply your deep knowledge and expertise in providing compelling proposals that will delight and inspire customers with the possibilities of a connected digital future with Telstra as their partner.
Please note all candidates must be Australian Citizens and hold a current AGSVA NV1 (or higher) security clearance.
Your key responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
Developing solutions for customers based on either defined requirements or helping the customer to define requirements
Perform a lead function for designing and developing very high quality and distinctive business solutions through the evaluation of customer's business needs
Document the Design, including standard and customised elements, that describes proposed E2E solution
Completion of solution responses and proposals within bid timeframes that are aligned to customer requirements and Telstra strategy
Actively managing and owning business opportunities, leading the development of customer proposals and corresponding costing and pricing.
Assessing customer requirements from discussions with customers, sales and service delivery, produce end to end costs for operational resources and third-party quotes.
Performing a Solution Lead function (design authority) for designing and developing high quality business solutions through the evaluation of customer's business needs.
Developing end to end cost models underpinning customer solutions, ensuring all cost elements of the opportunity are captured across all third parties and Telstra functional groups.
Conducting a comparative analysis and assessment of the cost model by taking into account similar opportunities, feedback and opportunity win rate.
Reviewing all assumptions to ensure alignment to scope, take ownership of resolving discrepancies.
Ensuring cohesion across delivery towers and 3rd parties for completeness of modelling (people, processes and tools); ensure that all obligations/requirements are costed.
Providing analysis to ensure costs neither overlap, nor create gaps.
Ensuring costs are reasonable and benchmarked.
Ensuring traceability to obligations/requirements, and to 3rd party quotes.
To be successful in the role, you must:
Hold a current AGSVA NV1 Security Clearance (or higher).
Have experience with Department of Defence systems.
Have extensive and proven experience and expertise in a similar role.
Be customer-focused and possess strong consultative and proven leadership skills.
Demonstrated experience with switching and networking (Cisco & Juniper).
Demonstrated experience with Voice Technologies.
Demonstrated experience with WAN Technologies.
Demonstrated experience in ICT Technical Writing covering a range of products in a large and complex service industry organisation, preferably in the Telecommunications industry, including relevant qualifications or equivalent.
Have proven knowledge and capability in writing Business and Functional requirements specifications, architecture diagrams and proposals.
Strong analytical skills, including the ability to analyse and interpret information, prepare written reports, deal with challenges creatively and achieve business-focused solutions.
Have highly developed organisational skills and experience working in a high volume and demanding professional environment with a capacity to prioritise competing demands and achieve results with a customer-focused approach.
Excellent oral and written communication skills with proven engagement, collaboration and negotiation skills and the demonstrated ability to build, maintain and use relationships with customers, vendors and stakeholders.
Possess an energetic, proactive and collaborative nature with the ability to work in a team and independently, maintaining a positive professional and goal-oriented aptitude, including the ability to work within specific guidelines, standards and procedures.
