About the Role

As a Contract Specialist in Telstra’s Wireless Program Office, you will be directly contributing to Pillar 2 of Telstra’s T25 strategy providing 95% of the population with 5G coverage. You will be providing contract management, interpretation, advice, and analysis to  a range of stakeholders for a portfolio panel of contracts with Telstra customers suppliers . You will be managing Telstra Design and Construction contracts to deliver key mobiles  infrastructure projects in partnership with project managers  and other key delivery partners Your focus  will be on operational execution delivery excellence by our supplier partners.  You are expected to have a wide range of knowledge  on  Site Acquisition and Design of  Mobile sites, and  construction of Mobile infrastructure. Develop and manage contractual documentation, co-ordinate contract performance reviews and action plans

Key responsibilities:

  • Act as a subject matter expert in the area of customers supplier contracts with Telstra, including contractual rights, contract risk and mitigation, documentation and interpretation (in consultation with Telstra legal).
  • Using your skills and technical knowledge of Telstra’s network (especially the Mobiles, Transmission and Fixed Radio networks), to ensure that suppliers design and construct Telstra’s 5G Mobile network in accordance with  their contractual obligations, and  with significant  focus on time, cost, and quality.
  • Have good understanding of the Telecommunications regulatory environment, including Low Impact Determination,  ACIF codes, and their impact on the deployment  of Mobile and Fixed radio infrastructure.
  • Provide analysis and interpretation of contract deliverables and milestones to enable the contract to be managed and minimise exposure to Telstra
  • Maintain tracking, reporting and audit requirements
  • Review and approval of supplier quotes, contract sum adjustments claims,  and Practical Completion adjustments in accordance with their contract obligations.
  • Review and approval of supplier invoicing and  requests for Practical Completion claims i in accordance with their contract obligations
  • Prepare contract management plans documentation.
  • Co-ordinate contract reviews and prepare documentation for contract variations
  • Manage portfolio of Mobiles Design and Construction centric contracts to ensure Suppliers are delivering on time, cost and quality elements of delivery.

About you

The following skills and experience is essential to be successful in the role:

  • Contract management experience in a telecommunication or radio mobiles environment
  • Commercial acumen and project management background
  • Advance communication and negotiation skills
  • Exposure in Design and Construction of mobiles infrastructure will be highly regarded
  • Contract law or paralegal practice is an advantage
