We are looking for a Cyber Security Consultant experienced in multiple security advisory disciplines.  As we continue to grow across the EMEA and APAC regions, there are increased opportunities for our cyber security consultants to get involved in exciting new projects. This role will suit someone who is keen to work across different industries in both a consultancy and advisory capacity. Our consultants are self-starters who can adapt to the different requirements of each client and are open to taking on new challenges.

No two days are the same here at Telstra Purple. Typical engagements would include security risk and compliance assessments, governance programme development, and security strategy development.  In all our engagements we aim to be a trusted partner to our customers, helping them along their cyber security journeys.

In this role your mission is to deliver outstanding IT consulting solutions to our enterprise customers. You will provide consulting services and support medium-to-large scale engagements across our customer portfolio, often managing multiple engagements at a time. Your technical and commercial acumen, passion for customer engagement, strong communication skills, and experience in delivering both pre and post sales activities are critical to success in this role.

As a consultant you are measured on your ability to:

  • Deliver solutions as a trusted advisor and support clients to enhance their security maturity position

  • Support pre-sales opportunities and seek to grow the business by engaging with existing stakeholders and winning new business

  • Assist senior consultants on large engagements deliver programmes of work in time and on budget

  • Contribute to whitepapers and knowledge articles for the wider Cyber Security community

  • Show flexibility and adaptability when working with different clients

  • Contribute to the wider Telstra Purple Team’s working methodology identifying improvements and sharing ideas

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work on a range of consulting engagements aligned with various security frameworks such as ISO27001 & NIST CSF

  • Provide security advisory services for customers in support of their cloud strategies.

  • Assist with pre-sales activities, providing security oversight to Telstra Purple’s sales team and helping to identify new business opportunities

  • Support the ongoing development of the Telstra Purple cyber security methodology and ways of working

  • Chair and run workshops with customers across a range of stakeholders to support them through their cyber security journeys

  • Work in collaboration with the Telstra Purple security partner network to support their customers through the cyber security maturity journey

  • Ensure your skills are maintained and that you keep abreast of the ever evolving cyber threats, both from a formal training perspective and on-the-job training perspective

  • Have a strong focus on a high level of customer satisfaction and delivery of projects that provide real value to our clients

Essential Skills:

  • Willingness to accommodate UK/Europe wide travel where required

  • Excellent verbal and written communication

  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills

  • Client facing delivery experience

  • Ability to clearly articulate cyber security in terms of business outcomes

  • Good understanding of ISO27001, NIST CSF and other security frameworks and best practices

  • Good understanding of Cloud Security with practical knowledge of security solutions for Azure and/or AWS.

  • Ability to present technical information in an easily digestible way for customers and internal stakeholders

  • Experience in leading working groups and workshops with clients to gather, understand and develop requirements and or recommendations

  • Previous experience in a security audit or assessment-based role

  • Previous experience in security threat and risk assessments.

  • Proven track record in customer service

  • Strong organisation and time management skills


  • Relevant security certification (e.g. CISSP, CISM, ISO27001)

  • Strong consulting background in cyber security

  • Eligible for UK Security Clearance
